Our family farm endeavor began 5 years ago when we purchased five Hereford cows intended to be lawn mowers. The next year, our neighbor offered to loan us one of his Angus bulls so we could expand our herd. Meanwhile, we found out about Joel Salatin and began avidly reading his books. Agreeing fully with his approach to all-natural, symbiotic farming, our family attended a 2 day seminar at Mr. Salatin's farm in July, 2007. Since then, we have added a large flock of Rhode Island Red and Black Austrolorp layers and are slowly, through management intensive grazing, building our pasture to fully support our beef cattle herd. In the spring 2008 we began raising pastured poultry. It is our goal to provide the best quality, naturally raised beef, eggs and poultry possible.
